Imagine living your life to the fullest, enjoying every day that comes your way by taking time to relish the important things in life like friends and family. Now, imagine that in the blink of an eye, either through debilitating disease or a devastating injury that it is all taken away… the ability to be carefree upon rising in the morning, the adventurous spirit that propelled you through the day, the job security that you and your family counted on to make your dreams come true.

As such, when a company fails to honor its obligation, there are steps we, as consumers, can take in an attempt to remedy the wrongs we have encountered. This is the case with the Unum disability class action lawsuit that was filed recently on behalf of individuals who were systematically denied legitimate claims, or who had their claims terminated, in order for the company to pad their bottom line.

In order to understand better, it is imperative to know a little of the background history which led to the Unum disability lawsuits. Allegedly, throughout the 1990s, UnumProvident — the largest provider of long-term disability insurance in the United States — began offering incentives for their employees to deny or delete existing claims from the record so they would not have to pay out the millions in claim dollars.

Obviously, this is a serious breech of contract, not to mention trust that their customers had in them to come through should illness or injury leave them unable to work for any long-term period. This was all in an effort to increase the bottom line and give the illusion the company was more profitable than it actually was.

For large corporations who have the might of a team of lawyers on their side, it only makes sense for people who have been wronged to have a similar strength on their side as well. This is especially true for the Unum disability class action lawsuit where, it seems, those who are filing claims on their own behalf are having them turned down. Do not let this happen to you.

This is proving especially true for those seeking reparations in the Unum disability lawsuits as, it seems, people who file claims on their own behalf are having them denied. This makes it especially important for those to whom damages are owed to get the help they need in navigating the court system.
